After helping the motorist, Fortin was returning to his vehicle, but as he crossed the highway a vehicle hit him and kept going. Hollywood Police found the Camry abandoned along the inside shoulder of the Hollywood Boulevard exit ramp.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A 24-year-old driver with a suspended license was taken into custody Sunday after a hit-and-run crash that killed two people on a motorized scooter. Evil Danilo Morataya Perez faces serious charges for the early morning crash that happened on South Dixie Highway. “The scooter was apparently traveling northbound on South Dixie Highway when a vehicle, described as a silver Toyota Camry, rear-ended the vehicle. That vehicle then took off from the scene,” said Broward Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Donald Prichard, said. The impact was so hard that the victims' shoes were among the debris scattered across the scene near Southwest 12th Street and South Dixie Highway.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. - As a mother of two was making a turn when the driver of a black Ford F-150 crashed into her silver Toyota Camry killing her son and injuring daughter in Miami-Dade County's Westchester neighborhood. While the mother has to make funeral arrangements, her daughter, who appeared to have hit her head on a window, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Simpson said the church is asking the public to help the boy's family and set up a GoFundMe page with the mother's authorization. The driver of the black Ford F-150 -- identified as 24-year-old Melissa Vasquez -- was seriously injured, and her two passengers suffered minor injuries. Surveillance video shows the drivers of two cars were speeding westbound on Bird Road before the mother made the turn.
