If your favorite location is just off of Broward Boulevard and west of Interstate 95, it is shut down following a water main break. City of Fort Lauderdale employees joined Fire Rescue crews in heading out to Planet Fitness and, after trying several things to stop the flooding, they were forced to shut off the system for the entire complex in order to stem the flow. Unfortunately, the gym has been deemed unsafe and will be closed for an interminable amount of time. Planet Fitness told Local 10 that members who are used to working at this location can go to any other Planet Fitness in Broward and Miami Dade counties.

Sheriff Gregory Tony was on hand to help officiate Thursday's groundbreaking ceremony. The seven-floor, 90,000-square-foot facility will be constructed right next to the agency's current headquarters on Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. In addition to new training and classroom space, the facility will also include a state-of-the-art gun range, complete with adjustable walls, allowing deputies to train for a variety of hostage and mass casualty situations. The new building will also feature a memorial for the 17 victims of the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.

According to Fort Lauderdale police spokeswoman Tracy Figone, officers were pursuing the suspect when he bailed out of the car and jumped off the Broward Boulevard overpass onto Interstate 95. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Chief Stephen Gollan said the suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, has a broken leg and two broken wrists.
