It’s been six months since Ana Knezevich disappeared from Spain. Her husband was arrested in her kidnapping months after she vanished. To this day, she has not been found.

U.S. and Spanish authorities continued searching Sunday for the remains of Ana Knezevich, also known as Ana Maria Henao, a Colombian-American who lived in Fort Lauderdale and moved to Madrid after a 13-year marriage fell apart.

The Fort Lauderdale man charged with kidnapping his estranged wife in Spain will remain behind bars, a Miami federal judge ruled Friday. Meanwhile, the 36-year-old’s attorney made comments eliciting gasps from the courtroom.

Family members of Ana Maria Knezevich were scheduled to address media outlets Wednesday following the arrest earlier in the week of her estranged husband.

The search is intensifying for a South Florida woman who went missing in Spain nearly three weeks ago.

Ana Knezevich was last heard from on February 2 while she was away in Madrid, Spain.

David and Ana Knezevich had been married for about 13 years. They lived in a house in Fort Lauderdale and ran a computer support business together. She also worked in real estate.

Ana Knezevich, 40, a realtor from Fort Lauderdale, disappeared while in Madrid, Spain on Feb. 2.
