Hamilton is almost universally depicted as an abolitionist in popular modern works, from Ron Chernow’s 2004 biography, “Hamilton,” to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony Award-winning show, “Hamilton: An American Musical.”But after poring over ledgers and correspondence of Hamilton and his wife, Eliza Schuyler Hamilton, Serfilippi, who works at the Schuyler Mansion State Historic Site in Albany, concluded that image falls short. Serfilippi said her research interest goes beyond debunking myths about Hamilton.

It then comes to the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County from Feb. 18-March 15. Winners will be notified by 11 a.m. the day before the scheduled performance and will have until 4 p.m. that day to claim their $10 tickets. It’s a good thing Alexander Hamilton is on the $10 bill and not, say, the $100 bill.
