This Week in South Florida: Sabrina Davis

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis recently vetoed Florida House Bill 6017, also state Senate Bill 734, which would have repealed a provision of Florida’s Wrongful Death Act, a law that limits medical negligence claims.

Sabrina Davis, an opponent of the limits on wrongful death lawsuits, joined “This Week in South Florida” host Glenna Milberg to discuss how she says the law unfairly denied her and other plaintiffs from holding dangerous medical practitioners accountable.

DeSantis sided with the opponents of the bill who feared that without caps on damages for medical malpractice signing the bill into law would have increased costs and promoted meritless lawsuits.
