We are now three days into a new state-level crack down on illegal immigration, the product of very-public and at-times-nasty debate among state leaders.
Thursday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law the compromise bills passed in a speedy, and all-but-pre-scripted, special session - meant to align with and support president trumps hard line immigration orders.
Republican leaders are calling the new laws a model for other states while Democrats who tried and failed to make changes call parts of them inhumane and some unconstitutional.
State Sen. Randy Fine (R-19) joined This Week in South Florida host Glenna Milberg to discuss the situation and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
