This Week in South Florida: Juan Correa Villalonga and Mariana Molero

Shock and betrayal are some of the words used by Venezuelans in South Florida who, as of last week, were given weeks to leave the country.

The Trump administration officially revoked TPS for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans, his new DHS secretary outlining “improved conditions” as the reason the protections afforded will be ended.

The Venezuelan community helped Republicans win Miami-Dade County with faith in conservatives’ hardline against socialist dictatorships like that of Nicolas Maduro.

An apparent about face has created fear and confusion.

Juan Correa Villalonga is the chief executive officer of AMAVEX, a Doral based advocacy organization, and Mariana Molero is a Venezuelan migrant whose TPS protection now has a deadline, and they joined This Week in South Florida host Glenna Milberg to discuss the situation. Their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
