PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The recent arrests of homeowners association members in the Southwest Miami-Dade Hammocks community, and the money involved, may have shocked a lot of people.
But there are those who didn’t find it shocking at all, who think condo boards and homeowners associations have too much power and too little oversight.
Republican Rep. Juan Carlos Porras is a freshman from Southwest Miami-Dade County shepherding a bill through session that aims to fix that.
