PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The Florida House of Representatives has 120 members, and the great majority are Republicans.
The math means Florida GOP members have the numbers to get their agenda, and one of them represents Miami-Dade District 114 which covers South Miami, parts of Coral Gables and Coconut Grove.
Democrat Adam Benna wants to change that calculation. He is a lawyer, civic activist and self-described chicken wing connoisseur.
Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera of Coral Gables has represented District 114 for the last two years. She was invited to join This Week in South Florida but declined.
Hosts Michael Putney and Glenna Milberg did speak with Benna about the race, and their conversation can be seen at the top of this page.
