Skype users will be able to move to Microsoft Teams for free by logging in to Teams with their Skype account.

The company said Skype chats will appear on their Teams account.

Skype was first launched in 2003 as a way to make free calls worldwide.

It was purchased by eBay in 2005 and later purchased by Microsoft in 2011.

In the last 10 years Skype has faced competition from similar products, including WhatsApp, Zoom, Apple Facetime and Cisco WebEx.
