Crystal Moyer is a morning news anchor who joined the News 6 team in February 2020. Crystal comes to Central Florida from WKMG’s sister station WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida, where she worked as a traffic anchor and multimedia journalist.
Crystal chose a career in television because she loves to talk to people, and sharing positive stories about the people in our community is her passion.
Since elementary school Crystal’s been involved in television production. Crystal grew up admiring Oprah and how she succeeded in media business.
While at WJXT, Crystal enjoyed reporting Football Friday, where she would highlight a high school football matchup each week. Visiting the school and seeing the spirit of the students really brought her back to her days as a cheerleader. Crystal loves a good pep rally!
In 2018, Crystal was the recipient of the Associated Press Broadcasters award for her coverage during Hurricane Irma. Crystal and her photographer heard someone yelling for help during their live coverage and ran to rescue him and his girlfriend from their car that was submerged in water from flooding. The situation could have been much worse and Crystal was proud that they were at the right place, at the right time to help. She will never forget that day.
Crystal took some time away from news to earn her MBA at University of Florida and is happy to get back into the business in Central Florida, reporting in her home market.
