When it came to decorating Local10’s SoFlo HOME PROJECT with a Design Expert host, Alena Capra was the perfect fit. The award-winning interior designer had already almost two decades of industry experience.
Her Fort Lauderdale-based firm, Alena Capra Designs, has completed projects across the country. She is a residential interior designer, and Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer whose projects have been featured in numerous media outlets.
As the capable and affable host of SoFlo HOME PROJECT Alena takes viewers on exclusive tours of fabulous homes designed by some of the most important designers in South Florida. But what viewers appreciate even more are the shows in which Alena gives her own tips on decorating gathered from her years of education and practical experience.
With Alena, it’s all about the “U,” with a degree from the University of Miami and also one from the Metropolitan Institute of Design. She’s been named to the 50 Innovators List of “Kitchen & Bath Design News” and was one of six "Praiseworthy Pics" for “Kitchen & Bath Business Magazine's” 2019 Person of the Year feature.
Hosting SoFlo HOME PROJECT is not Alena’s only foray into TV. She’s guest hosted several design segments on Lifetime's Designing Spaces and served as the lead designer on A&E’s and The History Channel’s Operation Build.
Alena also gives back, and in a big way. She enjoys lending her design talents to local charities and has worked on numerous room makeovers with the Make-A-Wish Foundation as well as design projects for the Salvation Army of Broward County, Ronald McDonald House, and Kid Sanctuary Campus, in West Palm Beach.
