MIAMI – Derek Jeter's first move as Marlins head honcho may not be to increase the payroll or hire new scouts, it may be something more obvious.
According to a report, Jeter is ready to take a bat to the home run sculpture behind left-centerfield at Marlins Park and demolish it to franchise history.
Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports claims Jeter has already made up his mind on the sculpture created by artist Red Grooms and reportedly cost up to $2.5 million to create.
