CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The big news around college football was the departure of Tennessee Quarterback Nico Iamaleave.

The quarterback decided to enter the transfer portal after a dispute about his payment from the Vols.

According to reports, Iamaleva was a no-show to practice after having practiced all Spring and was expected to start for the Vols for the second straight season.

Asked about the potential of players doing a so-called “hold-out” for more money, Canes Head Coach Mario Cristobal did not hold back.

Cristobal said, “We’re not going to do that at Miami. I say that without any hesitation. If anyone’s thinking that, they could be the best player in the world: If they want to play hold-out, they can play get-out. We don’t want to do that. We don’t want Miami to become that. Too many guys have bleed and laid it on the line on that field to do that.”

As for Tennessee, their head coach Josh Heupel said, “At the end of the day, we got a lot of great work for the two guys who are here. We’ve got a chance to move forward as a program. It’s unfortunate in the landscape of college football that it happens at this point.”
