The veteran cornerback, who started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has also spent time with the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks.

Burns, who turns 30 on May 1, was drafted 25th overall by the Steelers in 2016 after playing his college ball for the Hurricanes.

He started 25 games over his first two years in Pittsburgh but saw his role diminish over time. He started just seven games in his final two seasons with the team before moving on.

After a brief stint with the Bears, Burns found more playing time in Seattle, appearing in 21 games over the past three seasons.

Now, he returns to Miami, where he starred in college, looking to carve out a role in the Dolphinsā€™ secondary.

Primarily a special teams contributor in recent years, Burns has recorded 199 tackles, 38 pass deflections, and four interceptions in his career ā€” all of which came in his first two seasons, according to NFL.com.

He joins the Dolphins aiming to extend his NFL journey into a 10th season.
