This marks the first time Herro has received the honor, making him the 17th player in Heat history to earn the recognition and the 62nd time a Heat player has been named Player of the Week.

Herro played a key role in Miami’s 3-1 record during the week of Dec. 2 to Dec. 8, securing wins against the Phoenix Suns, L.A. Lakers, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

He averaged 25.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists while shooting 50.7% from the field, 43.6% from beyond the arc, and 87.5% from the free-throw line. He was the only NBA player to achieve those averages and shooting percentages during the week, according to a Miami Heat news release.

The week began with Herro posting a team-high 19 points, five rebounds, and four assists in a loss to Boston on Dec. 2. Two days later, he exploded for a game-high 31 points against the Lakers, including a career-high 21 points in the third quarter.

Herro outscored the Lakers singlehandedly, 21-20, during that period and sank seven three-pointers, becoming just the second player in franchise history to make at least seven threes in a single quarter. Miami’s 134-93 win was the largest margin of victory in the teams’ 73-game history.

Herro’s consistent performance has been a highlight of the season. He has hit a three-pointer in 56 consecutive regular-season games, just one shy of tying the second-longest streak in Heat history. He has also scored in double figures for a career-best 52 straight games.

This season, Herro has also led Miami in points a team-high 11 times, including 13 games with 20+ points and four games with 30+ points, the news release stated. He is the only Heat player to record a 40-point game so far this season, cementing his role as a key offensive leader for the team.
