Mike McDaniel expects Tua Tagovailoa to play football in 2024

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – For the first time since Tua Tagovailoa sustained a concussion, his head coach is talking about a possible return.

While addressing reporters on Monday, head coach Mike McDaniel said that Tagovailoa is expected to in 2024.

McDaniel said, “There’s still information that he’s seeking this week. As far as timelines go, I know he’s not playing this week. I do expect to see him play football in 2024. "

McDaniel said that he will make sure that Tagovailoa is diligent this week, but will access after that.

The Dolphins have Tagovailoa listed on Injured Reserve.

That designation means that he’s out for at least four games.

The fourth game will be this Sunday when the Dolphins play at the Colts.

The earliest possible return date for Tagovailoa would be Oct. 27 when the Dolphins host Arizona.

The Fins are returning from their bye week with a 2-3 record.
