Miami Hurricanes DB Meesh Powell said he was having a little fun with dance celebration

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes are looking like the Canes of old.

Miami is off to a 4-0 start, they are ranked No. 7 in the country.

In Saturday’s 50-15 win over South Florida, the Canes put on a show on the sidelines.

After a big interception, DB Meesh Powell led his teammates in a celebration dance.

The dance captured attention around the country and on social media.

Powell said Tuesday, “I think it’s, I wouldn’t say it’s gone viral but a lot of people have sent it to me. My mom keeps asking me what the dance name is, trying to create a name for it. I was just having a little fun. I think next time I won’t be as outright with it, I don’t want to take anything away from the team. It was just us having fun after finding out that I got my foot in, that’s about it.”

Powell said that it’s a well-known dance in Florida, but he doesn’t know the name of it.
