CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes are getting ready to once again take their show on the road.
The 3-0 Canes head to Tampa to Play the University of South Florida on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Quarterback Cam Ward has started the season on fire.
Ward is currently the Heisman Trophy front-runner and has thrown for 11 touchdowns with just one interception.
Ward addressed reporters on Wednesday.
Ward was asked about South Florida. He said, “I think this is going to be one of the most physical teams that we played all year. It’s going to be a good challenge both sides of the ball... I don’t think they get a lot of credit for what they put on tape this year, we’re just ready for the opportunity.”
As for where the team can continue to improve, Ward said, “Just staying on schedule. Doing the little things the right way that’s something that we cleaned up the last game... I think the more that we can stay doing the little things it’ll help us out with this game.”
Ward was asked about when he decides to run versus when he decides to throw.
Ward said, “I just think it’s a time and place when to do that. I haven’t had that time yet this year when to do that but if I need to, I will. You have a receiving core like ours with 4-5 legit dudes, who can go, I mean what are you trying to run for when you can throw to those guys... I’m just trying to get the ball to the playmakers.”
