Canes head coach Mario Cristobal addressed reporters on Monday.

Cristobal said, “There’s a lot to them that’s made them success. Tremendous amount of respect for their head coach, their coaching staff... I’ve seen them work at other places and what they’re building at USF as well.”

Cristobal said that just watching a few clips of them against Alabama reveals, “how drastic, how big of a step, how much, how good of a team that really is. The tape doesn’t lie and our guys to get see it so we’re excited for a great challenge.”

The Canes are off to a 3-0 start to the season after winning 62-0 over Ball State on Saturday.

The Canes climbed from No. 10 in the AP poll up to No. 8.

Still, Cristobal cautions his team about getting ahead of itself.

Cristobal said, “I don’t think much has to be said. They’re well aware that the same people who giving them praise and showering them with all the good stuff rankings, are the same ones who were throwing dirt on them over their grave when things were being built piece-by-piece.”
