Canes quarterback Cam Ward hungry for more after big performance in the Swamp

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward wants more.

After his big performance in the Swamp in the opener, Ward thinks the Canes left some plays on the table.

Ward finished Miami’s 41-17 win over the Gators with 385 yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception.

When asked Wednesday for the positives from the game, Ward said “On the positive side, we had a lot of missed plays, especially offensively.”

He mentioned plays that we left out on the field.

Many people commented how calm, cool, and collected Ward plays.

Ward said, “Just really how I was raised and how I play the game of football. Every time I play, I just play like I really want to.”

Ward said that he was the first one in his high school in more than a decade to go straight from high school to a Division 1 school.

Ward was asked about the attention that his big performance garnered.

Ward said, “I’m the same player I was at Washington State making plays in the pocket, making plays outside the pocket, leading my guys. But it’s crazy how you come into a new situation in a bigger market how everything can change... for me, nothing is going to change for me. I’m going to put myself and the team in the best position to be successful.”

The Canes open their home schedule on Saturday at Hard Rock against FAMU.
