‘Everybody’s hyped’ as Canes days away from Gators

CORAL GABLES, ,Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes are eager to renew their rivalry with the Florida Gators.

The 19th ranked Canes open the season in the Swamp on Saturday.

Miami enters Year 3 of the Mario Cristobal era with big expectations after another highly-ranked recruiting class and the transfer of quarterback Cam Ward to the U.

Linebacker Francisco Mauigoa said, “Everyone’s hyped. You can feel it in the locker room. These guys are ready to go. These guys are very excited to play. Man, it’s been a while. Going against our offense is cool and all, but there’s nothing like playing another opponent team.”

Lineman Jalen Rivers said, “The whole team is confident. I’m mean we’re all feeling confident we’re ready to play on Saturday. We’ve been working this moment since last season ended. We’ve been preparing Spring, Summer, and even Fall camp. We’re at game week now.”

The Canes are slight favorites over Florda.

The Gators are hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 5-7 season under Billy Napier.
