MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins have made a decision on when wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be eligible to see the field.

Miami placed Beckham on the team’s physically unable to perform (PUP) list on Tuesday. He will now miss the first four games of the regular season, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Beckham will now join defensive end Bradley Chubb, offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and linebacker Cameron Goode on the team’s PUP list.

All three players will be eligible to return when Miami faces the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Week 5.

The Dolphins were hoping Beckham would be able to start practicing sooner than later after fellow wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have also recently battled minor injuries.

Miami said Beckham worked hard in practice but felt like putting him on the PUP list was the best path to ease him in, according to Rapoport.

The team’s decision on Beckham comes after McDaniel said wide receiver River Cracraft will also “miss some time” after sustaining an upper-body injury in Week 2 of the preseason.

While Hill and Waddle are expected to play in the season opener, Braxton Berrios and Malik Washington are the only fully healthy receivers on the active roster.

Smith heads to IR

Miami also announced that cornerback Cam Smith was also put on injured reserve.

The move will not end the former second-round pick’s season, but once placed on IR, the team may then replace the player on their roster.

McDaniel said Smith is “week-to-week” after leaving Week 2′s game against the Washington Commanders with a hamstring injury.

The Dolphins will now make the moves necessary to get the roster down to 53 before they host the Jaguars in Week 1 at Hard Rock Stadium.
