Phillips, 25, who was a first-round pick in 2021 and played as a Miami Hurricane, recorded 43 tackles and 6.5 sacks last season before his injury occurred in Week 12 vs. the New York Jets on Nov. 24.
Although Phillips missed most of the season, he was on pace for a career-high in sacks, tackles and penalties drawn.
He spoke to reporters about his quick recovery and returning to the Dolphins active roster on Monday afternoon.

While Phillips didn’t participate in the Dolphins’ first preseason game— a 20-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons— he is now eligible to return to the field.
Miami plays the Washington Commanders on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
It remains unclear if Phillips will play against Washington but he is expected to ease back into action as he regains full strength.
In addition, the Dolphins announced they have signed linebackers David Anenih and Wyatt Ray.
The team also placed linebackers Grayson Murphy and Cam Brown on the reserve/injured list.
