FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Inter Miami CF announced Friday that winger Robert Taylor has signed a contract extension through the 2026 MLS season, with an option for 2027.
Taylor, 29, originally from Kuopio, Finland, joined Inter Miami from the Norwegian team Sportsklubben Brann before the 2022 season.

The exact terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Since then, he has become a key player on Inter Miami, making history as one of only two players to reach 100 appearances for the club.
In total, Taylor has made 101 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 19 assists, the second most in the club’s history behind Lionel Messi.
Taylor played a pivotal role in Inter Miami’s 2023 Leagues Cup victory, featuring in all seven matches and contributing four goals and five assists. In the 2024 season, he has continued to perform at a high level, making 24 appearances with five goals and four assists, earning MLS Team of the Matchday honors after a victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
“I’m really happy to sign a contract extension with Inter Miami. It’s a big honor and it motivates me even more to win trophies, which we are on the right track for. I hope to leave a good image and play here as long as I can,” said Taylor in a team press release Friday.
Inter Miami currently sits atop the MLS Eastern Conference at 16-5-4, with a league-high 53 points scored.
The team will face Club Puebla in the League’s Cup at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
