Florida Panthers’ Bobrovsky celebrates win with new hairdo as Stanley Cup makes South Florida tour

MIAMI-DAFDE COUNTY, Fla. – From beer chugging at the Elbo Room to showering fans with alcohol, dining at Fort Lauderdale Beach restaurants, and even taking a dip in the Atlantic, the Stanley Cup has been on the move in South Florida as Florida Panthers fans and players continue to celebrate their 2024 Stanley Cup win.

“We stayed up and watched the game. I’m surprised it went to Game 7, but it was a pleasant surprise in the end,” said Panthers fan James Cornelison.

Star players like goalie Sergei Bobrovsky are marking the team’s victory in style.

Bobrovsky, who is known for his luscious locks throughout the season, surprised fans with a new buzz cut.

“I have no idea who that is,” Panthers fan James Cornelison admitted.

When asked if he would recognize Bobrovsky on the street, Cornelison said, “I would not know who that is.”

Panthers fan Leland Moore praised Bobrovsky’s skills, saying, “He is a great goalie.”

Bobrovsky was pictured at Sarracino Salon on Las Olas after his haircut.

Federico Sarracino, co-owner of the salon told Local 10 News “He has nice thick, beautiful hair. I always suggest something different, and he always says to cut it shorter. He likes a buzz cut.”

The new look comes just days before the team’s official championship parade, set for this Sunday.

Barricades have already been spotted lining A1A, where the route will start at Riomar Street and head south to Southeast 5th Street. The city is setting up tents, bleachers, and a stage for a beachside celebration.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, right? We’re going to share in this and ensure the community has an opportunity to be a part of this,” said Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis.

As the Stanley Cup continues to make its rounds in South Florida, Panthers fan are getting some rare and unique opportunities to interact with it.

“I think that the party is just going to continue all week until the end of the parade,” said Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk.

Tkachuk appeared on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show with no intention of winding down soon.

“Everybody came to my house at like 4-4:30am and we had about 7 or 8 guys stay the whole night, and then we were at Elbo room by 8 a.m,” Tkachuk told McAfee.
