SUNRISE, Fla. – In the world of sports fandom, dedication knows no bounds.
On Monday, Local 10 News spoke with Peyton Cross, a Broward County public school teacher whose love for the Florida Panthers has taken her on an epic journey across NHL arenas all across the country.
Cross, a Panthers super fan, set out on her quest to attend games in every arena across the league.
“It started with New Jersey and then the New York Islanders,” Cross said with a smile.
From there, her mission expanded, taking her to cities like Chicago, Las Vegas, and Anaheim, all in the name of supporting her beloved team.
“Sometimes it’s not just about the game,” said Cross. “It’s about the experience, the camaraderie with fellow fans.”
Despite encountering a few less-than-friendly encounters on the road, Cross said she remains undeterred, fueled by her passion for hockey and the Panthers.
Her journey isn’t just about attending games—it’s a personal pilgrimage marked by patches collected from each arena visited.
“Every patch tells a story,” Cross said while displaying a vest adorned with colorful reminders of her travels.
While she hasn’t yet made it to every NHL city—Edmonton remains on her bucket list.
Cross says she dreams of celebrating a Panthers championship right at home.
“I’ll go to Alberta, Canada if I have to,” she joked.
As Cross flipped through a photo album documenting her road trip adventures, it’s clear that her love for the Panthers goes beyond the ice. Each snapshot captures not just the arenas, but the memories made with fellow fans along the way.
For this dedicated super fan, the ultimate goal isn’t just visiting every arena—it’s bringing home a championship to South Florida, where her passion for the Panthers first ignited.
The Panthers will get their chance on Tuesday at 8 p.m. to capture their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
Hockey fans can also tune in to Local 10′s Chasing the Cup pre-game show starting at 7:30 p.m.
