Panthers Captain Aleksander Barkov wins 2023-2024 Selke Trophy

MIAMI – As the Panthers get ready for the Eastern Conference Finals, an honor for their captain.

On Saturday, Aleksander Barkov won the 2023-2024 Frank J. Selke Trophy.

The award is given to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspect of the game.

It’s the second time that Barkov has won the trophy.

General Manager Bill Zito said, “This season Sasha once again demonstrated his unique ability to dominate the 200-foot game, and this award is deserved recognition of not only his talent and effort but also his selfless devotion to his team.”

Barkov previously won the award in 2020-2021 season.

Barkov, 28, appeared in 73 regular season games with the Cats.

The Panthers open the Eastern Conference Finals at Madison Square Garden against the Rangers on Wednesday.
