Jimmy Butler to have MRI on his knee; report indicates possible MCL injury

MIAMI – The Heat’s season is on the brink.

The Heat lost the Play-In Game Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

But that may not be the only bad news.

Superstar Jimmy Butler went down with a knee injury at the end of the first quarter.

Butler gutted out the game, but was playing with a limp.

After the game, Butler said that he would be having an MRI.

Shams Charania of the Athletic reports that Butler is fear to have an MCL injury in his knee.

Charania says the injury could sideline Butler for an indefinite period.

The Heat will need to win a home game on Friday to earn the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

If the Heat make the Playoffs, they’d face Boston in the first round.
