INDIANAPOLIS – Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier met with reporters on Wednesday at the NFL Combine.
The big topic of conversation was a possible contract extension for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Grier admitted the two sides were talking.
Tagovailoa is on the fifth-year option of his rookie contract.
Grier said, “We’ve been in communication since the offseason began. We’re going to talk to his agent here this week. Our goal is to try and get something done. Ryan Williams has been great. Tua has been great. We’ll see.”
Grier added, “There’s no timeline on it. At the end of the day, you know how these deals get done. They are complicated deals and we’re building a team through free agency as well. We’ll work through it and see if we can get something done.”
When pressed to see if he’s making progress, Grier would not tip his hand.
The GM said, “I appreciate the question, but I don’t ever talk about where we are publicly in terms of what we are doing. We’re having discussions and I’ll just leave it at that.”
