MIAMI – The Miami Heat added a new face to the roster, and it’s a familiar one.
Delon Wright was signed during the All-Star Break.

He’s the younger brother of former Heat player Dorell Wright.
Wright spoke after practice on Thursday.
He talked about growing up in the Heat building.
Wright said, “I remember I was up here with Shaq’s kids, little Timmy, little GP, Alonzo’s son, we were up here playing around. Not even watching the game. Just shooting while the game’s going on. To be here now is just crazy. I’ve wished that I was here early in my career. Growing up watching my brother, watching D-Wade, I knew about Heat culture, I knew what to expect.”
He called it a surreal moment.
Wright said he had interest from other teams, but this was his best opportunity.
Wright said his primary focus is being a defensive guy and playing off of his teammates.
Wright said he’s re-energized by playing in Miami, after moving from a Washington team that wasn’t winning.
For Wright the appeal of Miami was, “Just how long I’ve known everybody here, a lot of people here. If I wanted to transition in the middle of the season, Miami was the best place to do that.”
Wright said his brother is probably more excited for him being on the Heat than he is.
Wright said that his brother told head coach Erik Spoelstra and president Pat Riley that they should sign his brother.
