JUPITER, Fla. – The Miami Marlins enter Spring Training with big goals.
The Marlins made the Playoff last season as a wild card, and want to go back.

Owner Bruce Sherman talked to reporters on Tuesday.
Sherman talked about the huge crowds at the Carribean Classic.
Sherman said of the team, “I hope those fans come out and watch your Marlins, your Playoff Marlins. We want to get there again.”
Sherman said he’s thrilled about the upcoming season and adding President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix.
Sherman said he wants the Marlins to be “best of breed” at all aspects of the front office.
Bendix said, “I’m really excited to be part of this group. We have a great group of players, a lot of young talent. We have a great manager in place... I think it’s a culture we can build upon.”
About the offseason, Sherman said, “We haven’t brought in any big name players, any superstar players, we get it, we understand.”
Sherman said he’s committed to the organization long-term and his goal to make the player environment the best in baseball.
Sherman said attendance was up 29-percent last year.
Sherman said fans should measure the Marlins success based on what they do on the field, not by a soundbite here or there.
Bendix said it’s meaningful that Luis Arraez wants to stay with the Marlins long-term.
On the Marlins loss of Jorge Soler, Bendix said having a full season of Josh Bell and Jake Burger will give the offense the boost that they need.
