Jaime Jaquez Jr. to participate in Slam Dunk Contest

MIAMI – Call him Air Jaime.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. will be participating in the Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend.

The Heat rookie was officially selected on Thursday.

He will be the fourth player to participate in the event.

Derrick Jones Jr. won it in 2020. Harold Miner was a 2-time winner (1993 and 1995). Billy Thompson participated in 1990.

Jaquez Jr. is no stranger to showing off his dunks.

He won a contest in 2019 when he was in high school.

Jaquez Jr. will also be playing in the Rising Stars game on Friday night of All-Star Weekend.

He has played in 46 games for the Heat this season, averaging 13 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
