The Miami Heat have given head coach Erik Spoelstra a contract extension.

The Associated Press is reporting that the deal is for 8-years.
ESPN’s Adrian Woj Wojnarowski reports that the deal is $120-plus million.
Spoelstra was named the successor to Pat Riley in April 2008.
He led the Heat to two NBA Titles in that time.
The Heat have an additional four NBA Finals appearances.
Spoelstra, 53, will be 61 years old when his contract is up.
Spoelstra is the longest tenured coach in the Eastern Conference.
The Heat are well known throughout the NBA for their culture of hard work and grinding other teams down with their effort.
