Marlins sign pitcher Johnny Cueto to a one-year contract

MIAMI – The Marlins have added experience to their pitching staff.

On Thursday, the team announced that Johnny Cueto was signed to a one-year deal.

Cueto is a two-time All-Star and was a World Series Champion in 2015 with Kansas City.

Cueto, 26, made 24 starts with the White Sox last season.

He went 8-10 with a 3.35 ERA.

Cueto was born in San Pedro de Marcoris, Dominican Republic.

He has the third lowest ERA for a Dominican-born pitcher behind Juan Marichal and Pedro Martinez.
