MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The participants in the 2022 Capital One Orange Bowl have been set, and this year the big game is aptly named.

The No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers will face the No. 7 Clemson Tigers in a matchup of teams that love wearing orange.

Kickoff for the Orange Bowl, which takes place at Hard Rock Stadium, is set for Dec. 30 at 8 p.m.

This will be Tennessee’s fifth Orange Bowl appearance, but first since 1998 when Peyton Manning was their quarterback.

Clemson has played in the Orange Bowl six times, coming away victorious in four of those games.

Despite winning 10 games and being ranked in the top ten, Tennessee did not get a bid to the SEC Championship Game due to finishing behind No. 1 Georgia in the conference’s East Division.

Georgia took down then-No. 14 LSU 50-30 in the SEC title game on Saturday.

Clemson, meanwhile, took down then-No. 23 North Carolina 39-10 in the ACC Championship Game, also on Saturday.
