MIAMI – The Miami Marlins will host their future owner's former team next season.

Miami will host the New York Yankees in interleague play during the 2018 season, the team announced Tuesday.

The Yankees will visit Marlins Park for a two-game series Aug. 21-22. Former Yankees slugger Derek Jeter is part of a group that is purchasing the Marlins from Jeffrey Loria.

The Marlins will also host the other American League East teams -- Boston Red Sox (April 2-3), Tampa Bay Rays (July 2-4) and Toronto Blue Jays (Aug. 31-Sept. 2).

Miami will open its home schedule March 29 with the first of a four-game visit from the Chicago Cubs. The home slate will conclude with a four-game series against the Cincinnati Reds (Sept. 20-23).

The Marlins will also host the Pittsburgh Pirates (April 13-15), Colorado Rockies (April 27-30), Los Angeles Dodgers (May 15-17), San Diego Padres (June 8-10), San Francisco Giants (June 11-14), Arizona Diamondbacks (June 25-28), Milwaukee Brewers (July 9-11) and St. Louis Cardinals (Aug. 6-8).
