Finishing touches put on Hard Rock Stadium ahead of final preseason game

Dolphins to take on Tennessee Titans Thursday night

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – It took six months and 17,000 pounds of steel, and the new Hard Rock Stadium is finally ready for its debut at Thursday night's Miami Dolphins preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

The signature upgrade is a massive shade canopy that officials said will cool off the grandstand by as much as 30 degrees and protect fans from afternoon thundershowers.

There are also four new, enormous LCD screens -- one in each corner of the stadium, giving all fans a front row seat on replays.

There are some new parking options, like paying with a Sunpass and getting a discount, and new safety standards, including 167 new metal detectors to get fans in their seats quickly.

Sky 10 was over the stadium Wednesday as they were placing the final pieces into place. Crews were also doing some last minute clean up and painting, but all in all, the stadium looks ready for some football.

Another new feature announced was an Uber zone. Fans can take an Uber to the game and reserve a tailgate spot, where grills are already set up under a tent with a table and cooler with ice.

Fans can bring their own food, or they can purchase food to grill in the Uber zone.

Four burgers and buns cost $16.

Twenty spots are dedicated for the Uber zone in lot 14.

Fans will have to reserve online, and spots start at $250.
