According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit, Hester got into an argument with his wife at their Wellington home, shoving her, putting his forearm to her neck and holding her down.
Hester is the athletic director and head football coach at Lake Worth Community High School. He was a star receiver for the Seminoles in the 1980s and was a first-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Raiders in 1985.
During his 11-year NFL career with the Raiders, Falcons, Colts and Rams, Hester had 373 receptions for 5,850 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Hester returned to his alma mater at Glades Central Community High School to become head football coach, leading the Raiders to three consecutive playoff appearances and two straight trips to the state championship game. Despite a 36-4 record in three seasons, Hester was fired in 2010 and spent the 2011 season at Suncoast Community High School before leaving for Lake Worth.
