Florida county approves noisy dog ordinance

Owners of dogs cited for noise can be fined up to $500

TAMPA, Fla. – One Florida county has had enough of noisy dogs ruining a peaceful night's sleep or a leisurely day in the sun.

TampaBay.com reports Hillsborough County commissioners approved a noise ordinance that will fine pet owners if their dogs make loud noises for more than 20 minutes.

Owners in the Tampa Bay area now face fines up to $500 or a 60 day jail sentence for violations.

And if you own a cat or other animal, don't think you're off the hook. The ordinance actually pertains to all animals and the noises they make.
