Firefighters flush kitten out of drain

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Firefighters flushed a kitten from a storm drain Saturday on the side of the Don Shula Expressway. 

Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue firefighters showed "patience and perseverance" while saving the kitten's life, spokeswoman Erika Benitez said.

After a bath and food, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the kitten to the Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, where the cat got a check up and was up for adoption, Benitez said.
