DELTONA, Fla. – A Florida man who accidentally shot himself while cleaning his gun didn't notice the bullet hole in his arm until three days later as he was changing shirts, a Volusia County Sheriff's Office report said.
Michael Blevins, 37, of Deltona, checked himself in to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial on Saturday after discovering the bullet wound.

According to the report, Blevins told a deputy that he was cleaning his .22 caliber pistol in the living room of his home Thursday, holding the gun against his chest so that his dog wouldn't jump up near it.
As Blevins stood up, he felt a sharp pain in his lower back from an old injury and immediately fell face down to the floor, the report said.
Blevins, who was home alone at the time, said he believed that he didn't feel any pain from the gunshot because of the medication that he takes for a previous back injury.
Because he was wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt at the time, Blevins didn't notice the gunshot and "continued his normal routine for the next two days," until Saturday, when he noticed bloodstains on his shirt, the report said.
Blevins took off his shirt and noticed the bullet hole in his arm, so he drove himself to the hospital to be treated, the report said.
A deputy concluded that the shooting was accidental.
