MIAMI – A town hall meeting drew hundreds of concerned citizens Thursday night who had questions over a plan to tear down and rebuild the Liberty Square housing project.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez was on hand to answer the crowd, along with the selected developer, Related Urban Development Group.

About 700 families call Liberty Square home. Those residents got a sneak peak Thursday of what that new $300 million housing development would like, but skepticism is high over the idea.
"They just want to come back home. Who wouldn't want to come back to something nice like this?" resident Sharon Frazier-Stephens asked.
"A lot was presented tonight, but we not getting direct answers on would the residents move back?" resident Dwight Wells asked.
"There's skepticism, because there's so many promises that have been broken in the past, but I'm going to tell that's not this project," Gimenez said. "Nobody's going to be moved out."
The proposed plan will undergo its first major test when the Miami-Dade County Commission takes up a vote next month.
