KENDALL, Fla. ā A state inspector ordered a Kendall Dairy Queen shut last week after a complaint was sent into the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Rodent droppings were found under the front counter.
"Please know that food safety and quality, as well as the safety and well-being of our customers and staff, are our top priorities," Dairy Queen spokesman Dean Peters said in a statement. "OurĀ restaurants are required to adhere to our strict food preparation and sanitation and health procedures that comply with or exceed county and state health regulations. We have been working closely with our local health department and the deficiencies noted in their report were corrected expeditiously. The health department has re-inspected this location and permitted its re-opening. We follow all local and federal food safety guidelines, and strive to ensure we meet or exceed current industry sanitation practices."
