Two Miami-Dade municipalities – Coral Gables and Miami Shores – held elections Tuesday.

In Coral Gables. incumbent Mayor Vince Lago was re-elected, defeating accountant Michael A. Abbott and Commissioner Kirk Menendez with 55.5% of the vote.
Voters in Coral Gables also voted for Group II and Group III commissioners.
Rhonda Anderson was elected in Group II but Group III will go to a runoff between Richard Lara, who received 47.2% of votes, and Tom Wells, who received 39.2%.
Races in Coral Gables go to a runoff if a candidate fails to receive 50% plus 1 of the vote.
In Miami Shores, voters made their selection for Village Council.
A tight race was won by Jerome Charles with 39.8% of ballots cast, narrowly defeating Neil Cantor, who received 36.9% of votes.
