Trump visits New Jersey ahead of primary day

MANHATTAN – Donald Trump was at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on Saturday ahead of primary day in New Jersey after leaving the Trump Tower on Friday in Manhattan.

The primaries will be on the ballot on Tuesday. Trump, who hopes to earn more delegates, is running unopposed. The former president endorsed Mendham Borough Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner to replace Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez, who is facing corruption charges.

There are 12 New Jersey delegates at stake. Trump needs at least 15% of the state’s votes to qualify for state delegates, and 15% of the votes in a congressional district for the district’s delegate.

Trump will have to return to Manhattan. After the New York County jury convicted him in the hush-money trial, the court set sentencing for July 11, just four days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

In Florida, the registration deadline to vote in the Aug. 20 state primary is July 22 and the registration deadline for the general election on Nov. 5 is Oct. 7. For more information about voter registration, or how to update it, visit this page.
