Customers may have noticed the change this week. The app was shut down on Tuesday.

The announcement was made late last year with details about how customers will still be able to use the service through their banking services.

According to a media release, consumers will be able to continue to use the service through their financial institution.

Users of the standalone app will need to re-enroll through their banking app to continue to transfer funds through Zelle.

According to the company, more than 2,200 banks and credit unions offer Zelle.
