Bud Light has fallen to third place in sales, according to industry data.
After more than two decades as America’s top selling beer, Michelob Ultra, also brewed by Anheuser-Busch, took second place in sales between the Memorial Day and July 4 holidays according to NIQ data shared by Beer Marketer Insights.

Modelo Especial remains the number one selling beer for a second year in a row across the United States.
The beer sponsored the recent Copa America soccer tournaments that wrapped up in Miami Gardens last week. The beer is also sponsoring Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.
Declining sales for Bud Light began in 2023, when critics who were angered by the brewer sending a commemorative can to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney vowed to boycott the brand. Bud Light also faced backlash from Mulvaney’s fans, who think the brand didn’t do enough to support her.
