NEW ORLEANS, La. ā€“ Police in New Orleans are dealing with some sneaky, and apparently, stoned rodents.

The department said rats have been destroying evidence collected in drug busts.

The rodents recently even ate pot that is at the center of several investigations.

Police employees have also reported rodent dropping on their desks.

ā€œMajor rodents on the floor, the cockroaches, the rats eating our marijuana. Theyā€™re all high in the end,ā€ said New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.

Kirkpatrick made the comments during a city council meeting.

ā€œFinancially, it does not make sense for yā€™all to put any more money into this,ā€ said Kirkpatrick. ā€œItā€™s not okay. And itā€™s not okay for your people to be treated that way and called valued.ā€

The department is expected to move into two floors of a different building in downtown New Orleans.
