LOS ANGELES, Ca. – A United Airlines flight lost a tire during takeoff at a runway in California and it was all caught on camera.
The plane was headed to Osaka, Japan from San Francisco on Thursday afternoon when cell phone video captured the moment when a tire fell off.
The debris landed in one of the airport employee parking lots.
One car was smashed, and a fence was damaged.
No injuries were reported.
The flight was diverted to Los Angeles where all 249 people onboard were transferred to another plane.
United Airlines said the Boeing 777 is designed to land safely with missing or damaged tires.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the incident.
